Cristina Caldis
I’m Cristina Caldis — a Blue Mountains–based artist, art therapist, and eco-therapist, creating work that lives at the intersection of nature, emotion, and personal transformation.
My practice is rooted in the belief that creativity is not just something we do, but something we return home to. Through painting and process, I explore the quiet spaces where feeling, intuition, and the natural world meet. My work is both expressive and reflective — an invitation to slow down, to reconnect, and to experience something beyond the surface.
Living and working in the Blue Mountains deeply shapes my art. The textures, rhythms, and presence of the natural environment are woven through everything I create. Whether consciously or not, nature becomes both a collaborator and a guide.
Alongside my art practice, I work as an art therapist, supporting others to reconnect with their own creative voice. This dual role informs my approach — I’m less interested in perfection, and more drawn to authenticity, process, and what emerges when we allow ourselves to create without judgment.
My work often speaks to:
emotional release and transformation
connection to nature
reclaiming creativity and self-expression
the beauty of imperfection
Each piece is an extension of this philosophy — not just something to look at, but something to feel.
